In reflecting on this course I am happy to report that all of these components have helped me tremendously in this course: the lectures; readings; searches; assignments and activities; discussion board and blogs.
I am very impressed with the Dana text “Leading with Passion and Knowledge.” It is very clearly written and provides such great detail of the steps we need to take to conduct a successful action research project.
In addition, the lectures and discussion board were critical in helping me understand in a deeper way the information in the texts.
I have really enjoyed creating my own blog and observing and commenting on the blogs of my classmates. It has been a great way to share information and to gain a deeper understanding of our projects.
The assignments were very thoughtful and practical and have helped me develop my action plan and shape what steps I will now take to conduct my research study.
I have taken a variety of graduate courses at the University of Texas at Dallas, the University of North Texas, and Texas A&M University. When I was first introduced to the idea of completing my masters online through Lamar I was a bit skeptical. I worried that I would not get the deeper understanding and learning and sharing with my classmates that I have experienced in a face to face setting. However, I am happy to report that my fears were proven wrong!
This class has not only been incredibly interesting but it has been incredibly practical and has helped me feel confident in proceeding with the action plan developed through this course and approved by my site supervisor. In addition, my classmates blogs that were created in this course are ones that I will continue to follow throughout my career and I hope to stay in touch with these classmates as we develop through this graduate program.
Thank you to my instructors and the instructional associates who have been so thoughtful in the content, assignments and feedback provided on my assignments. I have really enjoyed this course!
